Oberon provides an intimate space for artists to rest, gather, and create.

Mission

Recognizing the need for rest, research, and retreat in the creative process, Oberon places no demands on how artists engage the residency. The space is intentionally crafted to host a single artist or a small collective, ensuring a personalized and intimate experience. Invited residents have the opportunity to live and work in a secluded home surrounded by serene forests and waterways for periods ranging from six to twelve weeks.

Values

We are committed to fostering the growth of artists, recognizing that their work enriches our comprehension of the world. We intentionally offer a nurturing space that feels like home, enabling artists to retreat and rest. Oberon is committed to nurturing a warm and intimate space where radical hospitality ensures that each artist feels seen, supported, and welcomed.

Care for Artist

We are dedicated to the ethical stewardship of our land and waterways, honoring the Tankiteke, Wappinger, Siwanoy, and Lenape peoples who have historically nurtured this land. We express gratitude to our Pound Ridge neighbors who continue to protect it. A commitment to the health and well-being of the surrounding ecosystems guides our actions.

Care for Land

We strive to maintain an open and inquisitive approach, collaborating with artists across all disciplines and stages of their careers. We believe that art, in its most impactful form, offers us essential insights into experiences distinct from our own. We are deeply thankful for the chance to grow and learn from the artists participating in our residency.
